If you are moving, downsizing, or have artwork you no longer wish to display, consider bringing it to 2 Friends to sell on consignment.

We also gladly accept estate sales. If a consigned artwork does not sell within a few months, we will call you to come pick it up, or you can donate it to a local non-profit. We frequently get requests from local organizations for auction donations. When you donate your artwork, you benefit the community!

Consignment Policies

  1. Drop Off - When you bring in artwork you wish to consign, you must complete our Receipt of Consignment Form. We will work with you to determine an appropriate asking price, and your piece will be assigned a consignee code and item number.

  2. Artwork - All artwork must be clean, professional, and ready for sale. Requirements include:

  • Framed pieces must have sturdy hangers.
  • Unframed pieces must be shrink wrapped on foam core.
We can provide this service for a small fee.
  • Mattes must be clean and undamaged.
  • Jewelry must be clean, and materials identified, if known.

When a consigned piece is sold, 2 Friends will pay the consignee 50% of the retail price, and retain 50% as commission. Payment will be mailed on the 15th of the month after the artwork is sold.

Pick up

The consignment period will be 3 months unless otherwise agreed upon in writing by 2 Friends Gallery and the consignee. The consignee must pick up the artwork within 2 weeks of the end of the agreed consignment period. 2 Friends will attempt to contact the consignee via email and phone when the consignment period is up, but it is the consignee’s responsibility to retrieve the artwork within the specified pick up period. Works not retrieved after 30 days will, without further notice, become the property of 2 Friends Gallery.

The consignee owns their artwork until sold by 2 Friends. All works will be handled with professional care. 2 Friends limits liability for damage to artwork from handling, viewing, and exhibition use during the consignment period. We will not be held responsible for damage due to earthquakes, floods, windstorms, or other acts of God.

We reserve the right to adjust these policies at any time, but will notify you of any changes that might affect your artwork.
